The Mixed Open on Sunday 9th June was a successful event despite the inclement weather. There was a field of 88 players, 44 in the morning and 44 in the afternoon. We received numerous positive comments regarding the condition of the course. We have to thank the greens staff for all their hard work prior to the event.
Thanks to the Cavendish Club for providing catering prior to and after the event. There was excellent feedback regarding the meal included in the entry fee.
There are various volunteers to thank, Mr Captain and Lady Captain, who were our morning and afternoon starters. Jill Branson and Sue Wilson, who manned the Halfway House and distributed all the delicious cakes, baked by our lady members, thank you ladies. Geoff Fearn and Steve Capewell for their car park duties, providing information to the players and general 'runner duties'. Thank you to all the members who donated raffle prizes, which were gratefully received.
