Our Day
Our annual Charity Day took place on Saturday 20th June. We welcomed 25 teams to the club, and they played in the glorious sunshine. Our beautiful course looked absolutely splendid, thanks to the hard work of the greens staff.
Sponsor's teams, club members and visiting teams, were welcomed by an army of volunteers, who ensured that the day ran smoothly. Without the volunteers, the day would not happen, and I thank each and every one of you for giving up your time to ensure that the day was a success.
The generosity of the sponsors, visiting teams and in particular club members, who contribute to the raffles, bake for the halfway house, and give up their time, enables the Club to raise money for the Captains' Charities which this year is The Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation, who were in attendance.
Following their round of golf, all the players were able to enjoy the hospitality of the Cavendish Club. Thank you to Andy and the staff for making everyone so welcome.
Obviously, an event like Charity Day is months in the planning, and I would like to thank the Charity Committee for all the hard work and support they have given throughout the year.
The holiday raffle was drawn at the end of the evening. Commiserations to those people who didn't win on this occasion, but your generosity was very much appreciated.
Once again, thank you to all
Carol Marsden
